Nice to meet you! My name is Jessica, owner of The Beach Photographer. I’m a professional wedding, portrait, and landscape photographer in Pismo Beach, California area who loves the outdoors. I’m also the mom of an amazing 13-year-old son and a Space Force wife.

Main Takeaway
While I may share a few personal details here, the most important thing I want you to know is that I care. My goal is to exceed your expectations and help you in any way I can.
Why Photography
Do you know that “flow” everyone says you experience when you find a calling or a hobby you love? I’m thrilled that after almost forty years, I finally found my flow. I love getting lost in the moment while experimenting with angles and lighting all while soaking in incredible scenery in an attempt to capture the perfect shot.
Whether I’m telling your love story in a photograph, capturing the essence of a young family, or framing a beautiful sunset, the outside world melts away while I’m taking pictures. I am beyond grateful to get to share this experience with you through wedding photography, portrait and commercial sessions, and landscape art.
About
I think it’s wonderful if we can connect on a personal level while working together. When you book, I will ask you a few questions about yourself and your interests. Here are a few personal details about me. On my days off, I’m always ready for a beach day, camping, hiking, traveling, yoga, running, paddling, and adventures of all kinds. You can usually find me near the water chasing our gorgeous sunsets, walking Hot Dog, running trails, sampling wine, enjoying a crackling fire on the coast with my family, or adventuring all over California and beyond.
So far I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Italy, Capri, Greece, Amsterdam, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Costa Rica, India, Panama, the Cayman Islands, Honduras, Turks and Caicos, Mexico, Canada, Belize, Puerto Rico, and Portugal.
We’re also BIG park fans. National parks we’ve visited include The Grand Canyon, Zion, Smoky Mountains, White Sands, Yosemite, Pinnacles, Sequoia, King’s Canyon, Mammoth Cave, The Petrified Forest, Rocky Mountain, Haleakala National Park, Congaree, the Everglades, Great Sand Dunes, Channel Islands, Joshua Tree, Crater Lake, Lassen Volcanic, Arenal Volcano, and others.
Also, I love hearing recommendations for new adventures. If you’ve visited somewhere amazing, let’s talk about it!
Last, but not least, I’m currently working on another passion project besides photography, realparks.com. (It’s a work in progress.) If you love traveling to parks too, be sure to check it out.
Education & Style
While my professional background is in digital marketing with a master’s in sustainability, I have also worked for photographers off and on for nearly twenty years, taken classes and certifications, and won a few landscape photography awards. My photography style is timeless, natural, and fun. If you aren’t enjoying yourself during our session, no matter how wonderfully you’re posed, how you feel always shows! I do my best to help you relax, feel calm and confident, and above all, enjoy yourself during our time together.
